Self help

Given my time with little to amuse me following my little hernia op, I have been studying various self help philosophies.

The crux comes down to - Only you can do it and you should do it now!

So as a starter for 10 - I have just entered the Last of the Summer Tri (2 October 2011)

Wish me luck

Mixed

Its been a funny old day as I arose at 6 to bring my body clock back towards Derby time, and made great progress on my jobs as the rain fell for most of the morning.

Post lunch has been a little mixed as my efforts to sort the cabinet door for the boiler didn't quite bear the fruit I wanted, though I do believe I now know the cause.

Followed by bidding for a new bike for the big lad on Ebay ( I won!) and collecting both fine gents from School a trifle early due to the youngest having aquainted himself rather too forcefully with our old friend playground tarmacadum.

If there was a prize for the child with the most "I bumped my head at School today " badges I have a sneaking suspicion who would win! Anyway poor soul has a hitler moustache style graze on his rather fat upper lip and a bloodied nose. He'll be right as rain in the morning!

Have to say both were unhindered by either fat lips or wobbly teeth when hoovering Gingerbread men for supper.

The Sun is now out, I sit in a peacefully quiet house, with boys abed and wife out excercising her vocal chords, hernia continues to heal and all is well with the world..........

Nonogenarians

Having just watched the interview by the BBC of the Duke of Edinburgh, it was amazing what we can learn from a Nonogenarian.

In simple terms, what has gone is gone, just get on with now and don't worry too much what others might think.

What a top philosophy

Carrot planting

Planted carrots the Dick Strawbridge way today - Soil filled loo roll middles for ease of transplanting when bigger, just had to give it a go.

The rain now pouring down and C out for an evening stroll, hope she doesn't catch her death!

New Boiler in too

Happy days!

Slow Days

A slow day with late sunshine.

Fascinating cricket still ongoing windows broken and the like, back to the olden halcyon days of Test Cricket.

Managed a lesiurely stroll this morning and managed to follow the one way street that I have been meaning to take for the last 2 years. Despite the thought it may be exciting and full of adventure, was nought but disappointment though lots of big houses!

Cat totally disorientated as most of kitchen cupboards scattered around the house as new boiler being fitted!

Congrats to Captain C

Well, on a cloudy but dry day Captain C has represented the BLOBS in fine style in his debut triathlon.

Such a shame no-one else could manage the challenge ( though given my shuffle to watch I guess I was in no fit state).

Inspiration

I sit contemplating my navel as my hernia repair continues and look at the inspiration around us, and can see no greater than this at present, take a look and prepare to be gobsmacked
